Subject: [Veritas-bu] multi-stream backups backing up entire system
Environment - Veritas NBU 5.0 Enterprise Server on Solaris 8 server=20
- Clients are a mixture of Solaris, Windows, and =
Linux running the 4.5MP6 or 5.0 client=20
Periodically, a client will backup all filesystems for every stream. =
For example:=20
Client A has 3 streams (c:\, d:\, and System_State)=20
Stream for C:\ backs up C:\, D:\, and System_State=20
Stream for D:\ backs up C:\, D:\, and System_State=20
Stream for System_State backs up C:\, D:\, and System_State=20
This has happened with Windows clients and Solaris clients. =20
All clients that have exhibited this problem were running the 5.0 =
client.=20
(I haven't seen it on a Linux client, but these are few in my =
environment)=20
This has happened in both incremental and full schedules.=20
Earlier backups of the same client, in the same policy, worked as =
expected.=20
Later backups of the same client, in the same policy, worked as =
expected.=20
Has anybody seen this? =20
Does anybody have an idea on how to correct this (besides disabling =
multi-streaming)?=20
