Greetings Laila:
This has been an issue for us as well. Because the standard NBConsole does
not
really allow this, we ended up purchasing a product called
"Storage Console: from APTARE software (www.aptare.com). This product
allows
the creation of users that can login to the portal and check the status of
their backups.
One can create server groups and restrict the login to only see those
groups or a
certain server. The portal adds scripts to the master server that send
data to the portal
server (in our case a Linux box running Oracle 9i and the Portal software)
in real time.
It works very well and the people at Aptare are easy to work with and very
responsive
to customer inquiries.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] How to restrict a netbackup user to just

Hello all,
Please, i would like to know if it is possible to create a user for the
xnb interface, whith the unique profile of monitoring backups, because
i want to delegate the task of verifying backups status to user rather
than the administartor.( we are using netbackup 3.4 )
thank you in advance
any suggestion or help would be appreciable
Laila
