Hi Darby,
Yes, I have changed the terminator and scsi cable within the tape library,
this is ATL P70000 with FC230 cards. The thing I didn't try is to change the
HBA card within the Solaris Sun 8 server which I don't think is the cause of
problem and it involves a lot of jobs, if the problem doesn't resolve after
changing the HBA card (JNI) then I will be in trouble, my boss said there is
not trial an error and need to shot the right spot correctly. Which I think
is such a difficult :(
Thanks
Robert

My guess would be hardware. Check your scsi card and cables. Also make
sure your cable length is well within the specified maximum length. I
have an ATL P7000 with a similar problem on my Windows2000 server. I
had a tech from Quantum come out to upgrade the bios on the robotics to
the current version. There was also a bios upgrade for the sdlt320
drive from ver46 to ver75 have this performed if you can.
Thanks,

Hi folks,
NetBackup 3.4.2 with ATL P7000 16 x SDLT220 LVD drives connected
to Compaq SAN switch with a single backup server (media server)
Always receiving error below in my /var/adm/messages in Solaris
8
Nov 16 17:29:18 sgs15i-001 tldd[21598]: TLD(2) [21598] unable to
connect to tldcd on sgs15i-001: Cannot assign requested address (126)
Nov 16 17:29:18 sgs15i-001 tldd[1322]: TLD(2) going to DOWN
state, status: Control daemon connect or protocol error
Nov 16 17:33:22 sgs15i-001 tldd[1322]: TLD(2) going to UP state
Nov 16 18:15:53 sgs15i-001 tldd[9349]: TLD(2) [9349] unable to
connect to tldcd on sgs15i-001: Cannot assign requested address (126)
Nov 16 18:15:53 sgs15i-001 tldd[1322]: TLD(2) going to DOWN
state, status: Control daemon connect or protocol error
Nov 16 18:18:22 sgs15i-001 tldd[1322]: TLD(2) going to UP state
Is this problem with Veritas NetBackup or ATL tape library ? As
per normal verdors shooting each other.
Thanks.Robert
