NBU 4.5MP3 on Solaris with L700 robot - drive cleaning controlled by
hardware -
On two of my Media Servers, when I type:
tpclean -L
the "Frequency" column is filled with dashes ( - ), all the way down the
drive display, instead of a numeric value between 0 and 10,000 as the SA
Guide says it has to be.
I noticed that on a third Media Server we have, the "Frequency" column has
all zeros. The messages file on this third media server has constant
messages throughout the day complaining "Automatic cleaning for TLD(1) drive
index n failed because there is no cleaning tape or the cleaning tape is
used up" where n will be the index number of the drive in the robot - it
sequences through each drive index during its spurt of inbformation being
written out to the messages file.
I have been trying to stop those messages from appearing on this particular
Media Server. We have the NO_TAPEALERT placed in /usr/openv/volmgr/database
on all the media servers, but this one server still complains in the
messages file about automatic cleaning failed.
I want to see if replacing the zeros with dashes in the Frequency column
will help stop the messages from appearing. But I can't figure out how to
replace the zeros with dashes. Does anybody know?
