so what are your file lists ALL=5FLOCAL=5FDRIVES?

if so, is the drive layout on the client for each server the same? you=20
made it sound like the servers were all identical, but didn't say if the=20
clients were identical. If the clients are different, using multiple data =

streams may produce different results on each client.

Hi Mark,
=20
Thanks for getting back to me.
=20
Multi-stream has been enabled but we are not using wild cards for the file =

listing of the class. However all sites have been configured this way but=20
some don't exhibit this type of behaviour.
=20
Should there be something else that we should be looking for?
=20
I have seen this sort of behaviour before on internet examples but as I=20
said I need to know whether this is normal Netbackup behaviour.
=20
Cheers,
=20
Nick

=20
I suspect the ones that are splitting jobs are multistreamed (check main=20
GUI page, "allow multiple streams" checkbox") and that you're using=20
wildcards.
=20
In the absence of "NEW=5FSTREAM" directives in filelist, wild-cards in the =

filelist will split into individual jobs if multi-stream is enabled.

Hi there,
=20
I just have set up 5 separate offices to use NetBackup Business Server=20
3.4.
=20
Each is running their own business server on Solaris.
=20
All are just backing up one client.
=20
All are configured to run a full backup on a Tuesday at 22:30.
=20
All are configured to run differential-incremental backups under one=20
policy on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
=20
My question is that when I run the Activity Monitor on two of the sites it =

shows successful jobs for both the Full and differential-incremental but=20
the jobs are split into smaller jobs so that I will get 3 job ids for a=20
scheduled backup. So it appears that the backup job is being split into=20
smaller chunks.
=20
When you drill down into these job IDs one job is 32K, and the other two=20
are larger, but different sizes.
=20
Can you tell me whether this is normal Netbackup behavior?
=20
If it is why does the NetBackup break the scheduled jobs up for some sites =

but not all?
=20
If not is there something that I might be doing wrong.
=20
Cheers,
=20
Nick
