Aren,

=20
Check your bpsched log. For the manual backups should see " (IM) " for =
immediate backup and " (REG) " for the scheduled backup.
=20
=20
If it was started manually you should see something similar to the =
following when the backup finished:
=20
06:25:46 [6551] <4> ?: ------------------------------------
06:25:46 [6551] <4> ?: << CLIENT: clientmachinename (root) BIRTH: =
1064930255 PRIORITY: 20
06:25:46 [6551] <4> ?: CLASS: NFS_Spec1 SCHED: Full(5) PART 1 =
JOBID 1511052 GRPID 1511052=20
06:25:46 [6551] <4> ?: STUNIT: backupservername (backupservername)
06:25:46 [6551] <4> ?: PID: 12679 STATUS: 0 TRIES: 1 SPID: 24968 =
(IM)
06:25:46 [6551] <4> ?: ------------------------------------
=20
=20
If it was started normally through the backup scheduler you should see =
something similar to the following when the backup finished:
06:29:21 [6551] <4> ?: ------------------------------------
06:29:21 [6551] <4> ?: << CLIENT: clientmachinename (root) BIRTH: =
1065003672 PRIORITY: 40
06:29:21 [6551] <4> ?: CLASS: NFS_Spec1 SCHED: Full(5) PART 0 JOBID =
1512683 GRPID 0=20
06:29:21 [6551] <4> ?: STUNIT: backupservername (backupservername)
06:29:21 [6551] <4> ?: PID: 7754 STATUS: 0 TRIES: 1 SPID: 7572 =
(REG)
06:29:21 [6551] <4> ?: ------------------------------------
=20
Hope the helps,
=20
Darrell

I am trying to unwind a backup frequency problem, in which a backup that =
is scheduled to run daily at 22:00 is running twice a day sometimes, =
sometimes really-really late (although the priority is equal to that of =
the other backups at that timeslot), and did run six times a couple of =
days ago. In order to separate operational error from setup problems I =
need to see whether the backup was kicked off when scheduled or it was =
operations hitting the shiny button over and over. I cannot use the =
bpsched log since we rotate them each two days and the worst of it =
happened four days ago. Is there a database field I can fish out with a =
NBU command or is this information NOT stored in the database?
Thanks!=20
