Configuring NetBackup-Java interface to support remote X Windows
environment.
Solution:
Supported options when configuring NetBackup-Java interface using a remote X
Windows environment using Exceed 6.xxx are:
Solaris to Solaris
Windows NT/2000/98/95 to Windows NT/2000/98/95
Solaris to Windows NT/2000/98/95 machines are not supported. The
alternative for this is installing the
NetBackup Java Display Window on the Windows NT/2000/98/95 box.
Occasionally changing the setup for Exceed to the following settings in the
Session 0 tab will allow unsupported remote X Windows environments to run:
Turn off "Cascading Windows" (located in the Session 0 window)
Turn off "Fit to Windows"
Use the "Default To Native" Window Manager
Edit the win.ini file on the local windows machine running Exceed and add
the following:
MotifPadWindow=1
ConfigureWindowPositionToClient=1
This will get rid of blurry screens when trying to move panes, borders
missing, screens stuck to the left
unable to resize windows, etc. The fix was foumd on on Hummingbirds
website thamks to one of my customers.
