[Veritas-bu] moving catalog to another master serve
2003-09-16 15:42:00
Officially, the catalog cannot be moved from the original master server
(unless it's going to a master server of the same name). Disaster recovery
is limited to tape importation unless you hire Veritas Consulting. You'll
have to import the tapes from Server A to Server B.

Good question.
Our site wants to do something similar for disaster recovery / robot
hardware failure tests. Any responses on this yet ?

Hello,
I have a master server A and another master server B (fresh install) I
want to start using B in the future and be able to restore data from the
catalog in Server A. Server A will go out of service.
my Server A had a STK L180 Library, and my Server B has a stand alone
DLT drive.
Please suggest the best way to do.
1, to import the catalog from Serve a to Serve B
2. to be able to restore the data that was backed up in Server A in
Server B
* Netbackup 3.4GA
* UNIX platform
* Solaris 8
