Hi All...
Windows 2000=20
NetBackup 4.5 Feature Pack 3
We have an issue backing up our Catalog. One of the two tapes assigned
for Catalog backups has been failing with the following error:
media manager - system error occurred(174)
Error bptm(pid=3D2996) media id IN2000 is in media manager database,
cannot be used for NB database backup or restore
Error bpbackupdb(pid=3D1824) load of media id in2000 failed, media =
manager
- system error occurred
In the All Log Entries Report I found the following:
Media Device Media Manager could not deassign media id IN2000, retaining
it in NetBackup database
Media Device media id IN2000 is in media manager database, cannot be
used for NB database backup or restore
General load of media id in2000 failed, media manager - system error
occurred
General NB database backup to media id in2000 FAILED
I have tried to expire and deassign the tape:
bpexpdate -m IN2000 -d 0 -force
could not deassign media due to Media Manager error
VMQUERY -deassignbyid IN2000 1 0
Could not deassign media ID IN2000: volume is already assigned (93)
When we try to remove the tape from the Catalog Backup Configuration we
get an error 97...media in use.
Can anyone help us with what to try next?
Thanks=20
