Hi,
I have done the following upgrades as follows:
NB 3.4 --> NB 4.5 --> patches for 4.5 --> NB 4.5 FP3
I have noticed 2 changes in the log one gets by typing
'bpadm', Report and All. These differences appeared after
I installed the patches for NB 4.5 which I found on the web
site:
NB_45_4_M_256993.solaris.tar
NB_CLT_45_4_M_257001.tar
NB_JAV_45_4_M_257015.tar
Changes are:
1- At every 10 minutes (watchdog delay, I keep the default),
I get a "Cleaning job DB" before check is done.
08/05/2003 13:59:59 ble - cleaning job DB
08/05/2003 14:00:02 ble - scheduler found no backups due to
run
In NB 3.4, and 4.5 before installing the patches, I had
a "cleaning job DB" only before some backups were to
start.
2- When all the backups finish, there are statistics, like
08/06/2003 01:55:22 ble - deleted 18 expired records,
compressed 0, tir removed
16, indexed 190, deleted 0 expired copies
08/06/2003 01:55:22 ble - cleaning media DB(s)
08/06/2003 01:55:22 ble - running session_notify
08/06/2003 01:55:22 ble - performing database backup
08/06/2003 01:55:22 ble - WARNING: NetBackup database backup
is currently
disabled
08
The strange thing is the "indexed" value keeps incre-
menting instead of giving the index value of the
terminating backup session. A value of 190 is too
high, and is the cumulative since the installation
has finished.
I'd like to remove that "Cleaning job DB" every 10 minutes for
better readability and to avoid the scrolling to mess like
it does on my terminal (non-GUI screen). If the text is
always the same for several lines in a row, the scrolling is
much better than when scrolling through alternating "Cleaning
job DB" and "Scheduler found no backups due to run" lines.
I also want the "indexed" value not to be cumulative, like it
was before the upgrade.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Louis-Luc
