You might try running the Linux client with FreeBSD's Linux compatibility
mode. I had luck doing this with the Linux TSM client under NetBSD a
couple of years ago. Such a setup will definitely not be supported by
Veritas if you run into problems, but if you have no other options...
it's at least something.
