there are a few reasons something like this would happen and you might =
do something different to fix it, depending on what you're actually =
looking for and what else is going on when these two jobs run.=20

  - the data could be using a different retention level. tell NetBackup =
to mix retention levels (not recommended. make sure you know the =
ramifications) or change the retention levels to be the same.=20
  - the jobs could be queueing at the same time and there are available =
drives, so it runs. use multiplexing to put them on the same drive at =
the same time or point them at a storage unit that is limited to only =
one drive.=20

my advice... read the NetBackup Troubleshooting Guide to get a better =
understanding of how it actually works under the covers and then you'll =
know why it's doing this. I think in many cases, the knowledge that can =
be gained from this manual is the difference between you controlling =
NetBackup or NetBackup controlling you.=20

  hi,
i noticed that NBU uses 2 tapes to backup data which is about 10GB in =
size.
which wastes alot of my tapes.
how do i restrict NBU to fill up a tape before using the next tape?
  thanks
