I'll second what the two other gentlemen already mentioned.  Since you =
don't
say anything about restore operations failing I am assuming you already =
had
the SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS set properly.  The number of buffers is still key
though.

Try this experiment on one of your T9940B drives:
    dd if=3D/dev/zero bs=3D1024k count=3D2048 of=3D/dev/rmt/<num>cbn
and use iostat -xn to monitor the write throughput to the drive.  I =
have
seen speeds of up to 69MByte/sec this way.
