I need some tips for my big move here ... I have a Windows Master/Media
Netbackup Datacenter 4.5 server attached to a library with 6 DLT 7000's. I
am purchasing an IBM pSeries 630 (AIX) and will be attaching a new
StorageTek L180 with 6 LTO drives.
1. It seems to me that it would be easier to name the new AIX server the
same as the old Windows Master/Media server so my 200 clients would not need
any changes ... correct (even the db servers)?
2. If so then how would I be able to do restores from my old Windows
Master/Media Netbackup Datacenter 4.5 server? Just bring the AIX server
offline and bring up the Windows server with the old name?
Any other tips you can think of for this drastic change in environments?
Mike
