First off, are you sure you properly configured the OSX box to accept
incoming rsh connections? (uncomment "login" and "shell" entries in
/etc/inetd.conf, HUP inetd, etc etc)
If so, are you sure you've got the .rhosts file in the right
directory on the OSX client? (/var/root/.rhosts, by default)
You could also use the cdrom to do an install directly on the OSX client...
