I've been working with it since version 1.6, so I know what you mean.

I liken it to being married for 60 years (no, I'm not even close to that
yet), at that point it ain't about the beauty but the love.

Even with all its flaws, I just love NetBackup.  I love you man!  But I'm
not going to say "don't go changin'"

You are right.  My comment is based on how NetBackup currently works.
I've been using NetBackup since before Veritas bought it and there
are many features (which I call stupidisms) which I've wished
were fixed or improved.  The server-side exclude lists being one
of them; the ability to have more than 2 catalog backup media another.

Veritas has been good about adding support for new platforms and
hardware, but not for improving features.  In fact, in the last
release (NetBackup 4.5), they removed very functional motif
interfaces and replaced it with a java pig.
