You are trying to combine these two flavors of the bpexpdate command:
Bpexpdate -recalculate -backupid backup_id -host media_server -client
client_name -policy policy_name -ret 6 -M master_server
with
Bpexpdate -recalculate -m media_id -host media_server -d mm/dd/yyyy -M
master_server
and that is not allowed.

The reason is that retention levels are associated with individual =
backups,
not with an entire piece of media since it is possible to place multiple
retention levels on a single tape (by setting the appropriate flags in
NetBackup.) Thus when fiddling with an entire tape you can only set a =
new
expiration date to apply to all images on that tape.
