Here goes, from personal experience only:

        1) You want to to use a dedicated HBA for SAN attachment to SSO'd
library. Although it it theoretically possible to put it on the same HBA as
hard drives several storage vendors caution against it.

2)You do not have to have a separate fabric for backups.

3)You do want to have at least a separate zone for backups. Ideally,
you want to zone one-to-one(WWN to WWN). For example, if you have one SSO
fibre connection to the library with 2 fibre cards you will create 2 zones(HBA
- LIBCON1, HBA - LIBCON2)

4)There are many gotchas, a lot of them are documented. Here is what I
remember
a)TapeAlert might need to be disabled since autoclean on SSO is
problematic

b)Drive reservation on Unix may have to be disabled depending
on your setup/level of confidence.

c)Clustered media servers with SSO are not supported, although
they are working on a fix

d)You need to make sure all target/lun numbers are in sync on
Unix and map them out to Windows(mixed SSO environment)

e)Prior to NBU 4.5 all devices may go down if a single SSO
hosts misbehaves or looses SAN connectivity.

f)On the Unix side you might have to manually configure the sg
driver, there is a technote on this
