Time Assigned is when NetBackup first allocates the tape to be used. It may
or may not contain data. Use the bpmedialist command to be sure. If the
column is blank, the tape is definitely unused and does not have any valid
data on it (i.e. no data in the image catalog, there may be old, expired
data on the tape that will remain there until it is overwritten.

Hi

Can anyone please explain the "Time Assigned" field. Does this column show
you the date and time when data was first copied to the tape, does it show
you that there is data on the tape and the data is still under protection,
does it show you the date and time this tape was allocated to a media
server, but can still be written to?
If there is no date & time info in this column, does this mean that this
tapes is available to Netbackup to be written to and / or can be allocated
to a media server?
