An expired tape can be "imported" and catalog data created from images on
the tape. It's a non-trivial process. Check out the NBU Sys Admin guide
for importing tapes.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Restoring an expired backup

Hi, one of our customers left us last year and requested a backup tape be
sent to them (even though we said that they would be unable to read it
without Veritas software). They have now requested that we restore some
files from this tape as they require some data from it. My problem is that
the media server obviously no longer has the details of this tape so I
cannot just get the tape back and restore the info from it.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and is there a way to restore this
image?

Any help much appreciated as I have very little experience of this product
but have recently become resonsible for it.
