Also doing the same, doubtfull you will have issues since FC is very low
latency.  I link a couple hundred yards away shouldn't be an issue as far as
thats concerned...  although, in the event of a disaster (earthquake, god
playing "what if senarios", etc), I would want the data closer. ;)

I don't know about the long-distance part of what you're saying, but our
catalog has lived on a SAN for the last year, both under 3.4 and now 4.5
without any problems (actually, with improved performance).

Hello.

The E450 running our NBU 3.4 instance is running into storage capacity
issues for the slices that contain the catalogs' images.  Some images are
spread out on different physical drives that have symbolic links back.

Toying with the idea of moving the catalogs from the local Sun to an EMC SAN
device linked via fibre another building a couple hundred yards away.
Outside of the risk associated with the actual fibre link breaking, could
there be any performance or
operating issues with such a config.
