We are having the same sort of problems, Activity Monitor and Device
Monitor appear to hang. If you leave the window up for an hour or so, it
comes back. Once this happens we can use the device monitor and activity
monitor with no problems.

Do you have many media servers? Any over slow links?

The only thing I could see that the Activity Monitor and the Device
Monitor both use that topology map. It seems to take a long time to query
all our devices on the network.

The security for the windows admin console, is adding the workstation name
to the bp.conf file or the servers list in the registry, I don't think
there as anything else.

We are having no problems with the Java GUI, as long as I don't use
Exceed.

We've had a problem for a while now (since MP2) where we can't use the
Remote Administration GUI from our Windows 2000 Workstation PC's. We seem
to have all the functions working EXCEPT the Activity Monitor / Jobs tab.
Everything else seems to be just fine. I have this nagging suspicion that
I've missed something in Security, but I can't seem to find it. OBTW: I
have installed Pack 3 and JAVA Pack 3 with not improvement.
