We are using the NetBackup NDMP agent.

Out Netapp backup experience is with Legato, not Veritas yet, but I =
think the idea is the same.=20

The group that we backup the Netapp for set us up a simple machine like =
an Ultra 1 or Ultra 10. They used that to NFS mount the Netapp and we =
then backup the Sun server as a client and cross mount points to back up =
the Netapp data. There probably is another way, but this way works for =
us...

Good news here - a request for a NetApp F810 has just been approved. =
Now=20
I need to be ready to back it up. We are running NBU 3.4 on Win2K (one=20
server is both master and media server). This backup server is also=20
hosting shared files and therefore is backing up local drives (we have a =

fairly small office). How do I re-config to back up the remote NetApp=20
share? My understanding is that I cannot run anything on the NetApp, =
like=20
say a NBU client, so how do I back it up? Can I just map a local drive=20
letter to the share and enable 'cross mount points'? Backup right from=20
the UNC path?=20

I suppose your first thought is RTFM. I'll be doing that tomorrow, just =

thought I'd fire off a preliminary mail to see how others are handling=20
NetApps specifically.=20
