[Veritas-bu] "Downing" a library?

I've got a library down - it's been down for three weeks - and the ltid
daemon keeps complaining every 5 minutes to my syslog that it can't
communicate with it. Is there a way - other than unmaking the library
altogether - of "downing" the library so the daemon stops looking for it?
