Yes, but in three way NDMP mode, NBU is an NDMP host; and you can restore
NDMP backups to NDMP hosts.

I don't believe this is strictly true. Drives used for an ndmp backup,
under vers 4.5 also, can't be shared with non-ndmp clients. They have to
be defined as a separate storage unit in the netbackup configuration,
and can only be used for the ndmp backups.
In addition, netbackup won't restore an ndmp backup to a non-ndmp
client. It might be possible to restore from an ndmp backup using tar on
the command line, but not through the nbu restore interface.

First of all, a SCSI drive is an NDMP drive. There is no difference
between
tape drives used for NDMP and those used for legacy backup. I think
what
you are trying to do is restore a backup created using NDMP to a
non-NDMP
server?

IF this is the case, then you should be able to, if you are using
NetBackup
4.5. In this case you can setup your server as an NDMP three way host,
the
restore from a drive attached to this NBU server and re-direct to a
local
drive. Mind you, I haven't specifically tried it, but it should work.

Good luck
