=20
Hi all
=20
On a new installation of NetBackup, we've added devices to NetBackup and =
tried to startup ltid. It produces the following error:
=20
' Error in getting semaphore' .
=20
ltid -v does not log anything in /var/adm/messages.
=20
I subsequently discovered that Legato is running on this server!!! =
We've stopped all the Legato daemons, but it did not solve the problem. =
My 'gut feel' is that the Legato device drivers are still loaded in =
memory (something like Legato's version of the sg driver?). The problem =
is that neither us nor the customer knows what to look for under =
modinfo. I'm pretty sure if we modunload it, our problem will be solved.
=20
Is there perhaps anybody out there that knows what the Legato device =
driver is called?
=20
As a matter of interest - this Legato installation was actually bundled =
with an Oracle installation!!=20
=20
pkginfo results:
=20
application ORCLclnt LSM (Backup/Recover) Client
system ORCLdrvr LSM (Backup/Recover) Device Drivers
application ORCLman LSM (Backup/Recover) Man
application ORCLnode LSM (Backup/Recover) Storage Node
application ORCLserv LSM (Backup/Recover) Server=20
=20
pkginfo -l shows the vendor name as being Oracle.
=20
I have asked the customer to log a call with the Legato vendor (Oracle). =

=20
The customer is a bit hesitant to simply remove above-mentioned =
packages, as the impact on Oracle is unpredictable. The system cannot be =
rebooted, as this is a live Oracle database server.
=20
Any advice will be appreciated.
