I am also trying to test if I could get it to backup
the catalog to a different tape other the two
configured tapes.

Have you got any good test results?



I read the man page in the meantime. It's clear that I
have to test it. I already ran bpbackupdb in the past
and there was no need to manuammy mount a tape, the
command does it for you. The only thing I'm not sure
is whether you can specify a media that is not one of
the 2 configured media ids to be used for catalog
backups to tape. I will do some testing tomorrow.
