I think this will work for you if you're running Windows. If not, maybe
somebody else can translate this procedure to *nix.

1. In Device Monitor, click View | Customize
2. Click the Preferences tab
3. Select Enable 'Up Drive, Operator Control'
4. Right-click the drive in device manager and choose to up with opeartor
control (may have to restart device manager service)

Good luck,
Matt

Subject: [Veritas-bu] DLT Drive Config

All,

I'm having a problem configuring a DLT drive.
I want to add it as an standalone drive.

It's a DLT7000.

Every time I add it, it's shown as AVR

                                  DRIVE STATUS

Drv Type Control User Label RVSN EVSN Ready Wr.Enbl. ReqId
  0 4mm OPR Yes WED-B Yes Yes -
  1 dlt AVR - No - -

Any ideas ?
I know there are options to configure the drive (DLT, DLT2 and DLT3).
I have tried all of them, however, is there any special I should use ?

Thanks a lot !

Carlos
