Hi all,

I have NBU 3.41 with patch 4 installed on a Win2K master/media server with
an attached StorageTek L40 and 3 LTO drives. This library has 40 tape slots
and one cleaning cart slot. I'm not quite clear on how to set up cleaning on
this robot.

Q1: Do I enable Autoclean on the library? My understanding is this causes
the library to manage this function, detecting when drives report cleaning
needed. Correct?

Q2. Do I disable Autoclean and configure NBU to handle it? If so, how is NBU
configured? Should I use time-based cleaning or TapeAlert? What are the pros
and cons of both, and the steps to make this happen? Every time I try to add
a volume manually and specify slot 41, I get an error indicating that the
robot doesn't have that many slots (even though STK claims in their manual
that the 41st slot can either be used for a cleaning tape or a data tape).

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

Chris Brewer
