What I am thinking is happening here is due to the way in which NetBackup
schedules things. 

If you are running weekly Full backups and you have your schedule frequency
set to "one week", NetBackup thinks of that as "seven 24 hour periods".
Thus, if it does not run, and the Operator runs it manually the next day, it
is not going to run again for "seven 24 hour periods" which means it will
not run the following Friday. 

The workaround is to set you Weekly backups to run each Friday, and set the
Frequency to "Four days" instead of "once week". This way, even if it is run
on Saturday, it will still run Friday. 

It is explained in the manual by the way.

Hi All

I am experiencing some strange backup patterns...Hoping someone out ther can

Netbackup 34.1
Patch level 34_3

I have various backup policies consisting of two schedules each. One
schedule runs a full backup every Friday and cumalitive incremental backups
from Monday to Thursday. The operators checks the full backup runs on
saturday morning.

Case......Some of the full scheduled backups will not kick off on a Friday
night. The operators will then kick this off manually on a Saturday morning.
The strange thing is that it is never the same clients. This is a ongoing
problem for different client every Saturday.
