The bpexpdate command can change the retention on a tape or on an image.
Check the man page - it's pretty detailed.

Can you extend the retention of a tape?
 
I had a backup from one site and transferred it to another site and have
imported the information, but as I understand it the imported image
information will only retain in the Netbackup db's on site 2 for as long as
the retention period was set for the backup on site 1. 
 
So.. is there any way to extend the retention for a tape??
