David,

I just ran into a similar thing. There were 2 partial images on the first
tape, the current week's and the week before, and rest of the current image on
the second tape. I did the phase 1 and then the phase 2 on the first tape. This
resulted in a couple errors, "1 of 3 images imported, 2 images not found" or
something like that. I then ran the Phase 1 on the second tape, then Phase 2 on
the second tape. The Phase 2 didn't do anything. I re-ran Phase 2 on the first
tape, which did its thing all over again, except that it mounted the second
tape and did Phase 2 on that tape also. I was able to do restores from that
point.

I have just taken 2 tapes from one site to another. Running Netbackup 3.2GA on
solaris 8 with an L1000.

the master Netbackup server is also the media manager server so no problems
there.

I want to import the tapes from site1 to site2 and so did an import selected
tape id etc.

When this finished I pressed the Phase 2 button and selected the tape and image
and kicked of the import.

While this was running I then did a phase 1 on another tape. Now these tapes
contain a backup of the same client from the same schedule I.e 2 tapes were
used in the backup. I got an error looking in the log saying :-

Import phase 1 started Tue Sep 24 14:45:01 2002
14:45:02 INF - Create DB information for media id DBQ913.
14:45:04 INF - Initiation of bptm process to read media id DBQ913 was successful
.
14:45:05 INF - Waiting for mount of media id DBQ913 on server SERVER.

14:46:37 INF - Found existing image information for client CLIENT, class DR_Al
l, and schedule DR_full, done on 09/23/02 23:35:44.
14:46:38 WRN - Cannot import client CLIENT, class DR_All, and schedule DR_full
, copy 1 fragment 3 already exists. Skipping this image.

14:46:48 INF - Creation of database information for import of media id DBQ913 co
mplete.

Now by phase 2 which I kicked off seems to be hung :-

Import phase 2 started Tue Sep 24 14:40:18 2002
14:40:20 INF - Importing class DR_All, schedule DR_full (CLIENT_1032820544), m
edia id DBQ916, created on 09/23/02 23:35:44.
14:40:23 INF - Waiting for mount of media id DBQ916 on server SERVER.
14:41:53 INF - Waiting for positioning of media id DBQ916 on server SERVER.
14:41:55 INF - Beginning import on server SERVER of client CLIENT.

Its just hung there.

Questions :-

1. I take it it is dodgy to try and import 2 tapes at the same time??
2. How do i kill the import to start again?
3. I hope it is possible to import these 2 tapes although they contain info on
the same client and schedule. any ideas ?

Thanks
Dave
