Hi,

I should have mentioned that I had tried truss so I could see what it spat out 
during
the error. Nothing obvious shows up or is wrong, though.

Anyway, as a test I chmoded /usr/openv/netbackup/logs to allow writes by the 
group
and that appears to have done the trick.
