I don't think so. We use the Informix agent and each dbspace
is a seperate job. If any dbspace receives a media error it
starts over at the beginning of the database no matter what
the retries are.
If you find a solution please post as I maybe able to use
it for Informix and we will be implementing RMAN for Oracle
before the end of the year.

Hi Folks !
My DBA uses RMAN to backup Oracle. The problem is, if there is a media write
error on any one of the data files, the whole database backup failes. Is
there any way to set a number of retry attempts for rman backups?. I know
for scheduled backups it is possible to set the number of retry attempts.
And is there a setting to wait for certain number of media errors before
Netbackup freezes the media??
Thanks,
- Karun
