WIN2K SP3 is no problem. Have used it for 6-7 month's (beta).

Your backup's will probable run faster beacuse of the improved TCP/IP
stack in SP3.

Hello all,
We're running Datacenter 3.4.1 on WIN2K servers. Has anyone
installed sp3? Any problems, comments?

Thanks,

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Number of retry attempts for user backup !

Hi Folks !
My DBA uses RMAN to backup Oracle. The problem is, if there is a media
write
error on any one of the data files, the whole database backup failes. Is

there any way to set a number of retry attempts for rman backups?. I
know
for scheduled backups it is possible to set the number of retry
attempts.

And is there a setting to wait for certain number of media errors before

Netbackup freezes the media??

Thanks,
- Karun

Just go into the registry and turn if off.

Len,
I also have a problem with OTM - Every time my Media Server is rebooted
it
wants to do a CHKDSK. Events in the Event log shows that my J: Drive and
E:
Drive are corrupt

OTM is responsible - trouble is I cannot stop it happening!!! Simon

Hell Tommy

It looks like you have the client optional open file feature installed
and
it is causing your problems. If you do not require this feature you can
turn
it off. If you do require it, you will have to look in the event logs
and
see if you can determine which otm actiom is causing your problems. Then
fix
the problem.

Hi all,
We have NetBackup3.41 on a Win2K server as a NetBackup media server, the
system log shows an OTMAN5 error "Event ID 3: Driver or device is
incorrectly configured"; occasionally, the server went on blue screen.
Does
anyone knows the cause and fix for this error? Thanks Tommy
