All,
With the 4.5 Admin Console on Windows you CAN perform
a restore from any client to any other client. This may
not initially be apparent because if you don't have an
active 'browse' window open then the 'Specify NetBackup
Machines' only gives the options of 'servers & clients'.
Upon performing an initial 'Select for restore', the menu
is then updated so that 'Specify NetBackup Machines' now
shows 'Servers, Source Clients/Policy Type & Dest Clients'.

Incidentally, under 4.5 the Admin Client no-longer requires
a server license key but you still have to select a server
install rather than a client install. By not entering a
license key when prompted, the only option available will
be the Administration Client.

Is the admin console licensed in 4.5? I vaguely remember being asked for a
key to use it (We have a site license, so, I don't know how any of this
stuff should be/ is addressed from a sales perspective...). However, I'm
thinking if you install the server piece and give it an admin console key
and don't ever use the *server* piece of it, you might be OK.(?!?!)
Or else, maybe VERITAS could get it to work in the first place ;-)

yes?
IFIRC, the admin console can be installed anywhere as much as you want, but
installing a full server install requires a license. Or am I out there?
The admin console SHOULD support this functionality, don't you think?
