Due to a re-org I am tasked with promoting a 3.4 media server to master
server. I have arranged for the administrator of the current master server
to provide a copy of the NB database apart from that I will have no access
to the master server and can expect little to no help from the master server
owner. I understand changing the hostname change will cause some problems
are there any ways around this? Due to the political situation the hostname
will have to change. The process I was planning on using, reinstall media
server as a master server. restore databases from backup. leaving the media
server databases alone. Does anyone have any experiences with this?
