You can use bpexpdate to expire an image, in your case:

bpexpdate -d 0 -backupid cxri_1026845835

-Mark

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Deleting or overwriting file on tape?

I started an archive to tape and the operation failed because I ran
out of media. I'd like to start over as if I'd never run that job,
thus reclaiming the space on that tape.

I ran a report on the media in question and see that here are two
  files on the tape.

File number 1
  Backup id = cxri_1015876801
  Creation date = 03/11/2002 15:00
  Expiration date = INFINITY
  Retention level = 9
  Copy number = 1
  Fragment number = 1
Block size (in bytes) = 32768

File number 2
  Backup id = cxri_1026845835
  Creation date = 07/16/2002 14:57
  Expiration date = INFINITY
  Retention level = 9
  Copy number = 1
  Fragment number = 1
Block size (in bytes) = 32768

How can I get rid of file number 2? I want to keep File number 1.
