What about stopping all the services and killing all the associated
Netbackup processes?
Then starting the services manually?

Is anyone able to restart Netbackup on Windows 2000 without rebooting the
server?

I have several Windows 2000-based servers in my SAN, and whenever a need
comes up to restart Netbackup, the device will not stay running. After
starting it, it fails after about a minute with this in the event log:

Event Type:     Error
Event Source:   NetBackup Device Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID:       2677
Date:           7/16/2002
Time:           7:26:00 AM
User:           N/A
Computer:       XXXXXX
Description:
Cannot get messages: Cannot create a file when that file already exists. 

Veritas support had no suggestions.
