[Veritas-bu] Netbackup 4.5 & inetd
2002-07-12 08:44:35
Synopsis: all NetBackup inetd processes in 3.4 were able to be removed when
replaced with tcpserver, 4.5 'requires' bpjava-msvc to stay in inetd for the
GUI to authenticate.
Solaris 8, NetBackup DataCenter 4.5, ucspi-tcp-0.88 (for tcpserver)
3.4 Allowed the following to replace all the inetd.conf entries
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13782 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpcd &
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13783 /usr/openv/bin/vopied &
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13722
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpjava-msvc &
4.5 Works with
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13782 /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpcd &
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13724 /usr/openv/bin/vnetd &
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13783 /usr/openv/bin/vopied &
But not
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -q 0 13722
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpjava-msvc &
With bpjava-msvc out of inetd, error when clicking "login"
Unable to login, status: 505
Can not connect to the NB-Java authentication service on
'server' on the configured port - 13722
Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
Exception message: null
Anybody tried/succeeded with 4.5?
Thanks,
Stew
