what about backup_exit_notify. Just append bperrcode $5 ( or whatever
status is ) to $OUTF then mail u the results.
This does this after each backup ran and i have a copy of these so can back
track easily

This script will nicely summarise per job. It reports the ending time
however, a much more useful parameter imho. But you can change that
according to your liking of course.
The reportformat file was created using xbpmon.
