the 1st thing to check is the order in which it sees the drives, it is
quite possible that it sees the drives in a different manner, 
i.e. drive 1 it sees as drive 2 etc..
 
in win nt, I do not think you can do persistent binding. although that
depends on the cards you are using
Some more info on your site would be useful.

We are having a problem with one of our media servers. Every time it is
up and running with the rest of our media servers it starts to down
drives. We are using Netbackup 3.4.1 on Windows NT 4.0 sp6.the
environment is mixed with Windows and Unix for the media
servers.According to veritas the logs are not showing anything unusual.
Any ideas?
