Casey,
I am about to do the same exact thing.
I am moving my backup/media/Oracle Test/Dev. server from a E420R to
a backup/media only server on a E250.
I am upgrading from Solaris 2.6 to Solaris9.
I am moving NB Datacenter 3.4 to the same 3.4.

Here are the important questions:
1. Is Netbackup Datacenter 3.4 supported on Solaris9?
   YES
2. If it is supported which patches would be applied to a Solaris9 system?
    NB_34_3.solaris_246607.tar

I found a bug in installing Solaris9:
When you ssh from another server the Solaris9 machine freezes its
window after one (1) hour. The only way to get the window back is
to kill the ssh process on the originating server, then ssh again.
As of sending this message Sun knows about the problem, but they
have no workaround to the situation.

I am thinking about doing a pkgrm on the bundled ssh and installing a
fresh ssh-3.1.0.

Or, use telnet, it does not have this problem.

NetBackup-ers...

I've got a NetBackup 3.4 master server instance running for a small
environment and we've got new hardware to move the server onto, so I was
debating upgrading the OS to Solaris 9 at the same time. Now I would
assume that it would work under binary compatibility. But I thought
I would check with you folks. Has anyone had experience yet running
NetBackup on Solaris 9? Would upgrading to 4.5 first help? Do I need a
special release for Sol9?

Thanks for your help!
