Since you say you tested, you might've thrown your scheduling off. Manual
backups count against your scheduled frequency settings. Is it possible
they didn't run because of that?

I'll leave the lockfile issue for somebody else.

I patched our NetBackup servers to NB_34_3 yesterday & tested backups and
restores OK. Overnight none of our scheduled jobs kicked in. I don't think
the problem is due to the patch but due to NetBackup not shutting down
cleanly before the patching (had to run bp.kill_all several times despite no
backups actually running).

I notice an bpsched process on the master server from when NetBackup was
restarted after the patch, which appears to be waiting for a lock file
bpsched.d/main_bpsched_busy.lock. I am sure I have seen reference to this
file and this problem on the list but cannot find it in the archives.

Any ideas what I need to do to activate the schedules again? Manual backups
run OK, so once a few of those are out of the way I will try restarting the
NetBackup daemons ... but I'm worried about any lock files being left
around.

thanks for any info, Phil
