Either will work as long as you are consistent in the configurations of your
storage units, media, etc...
Preferably, if you only have DLT7000s in your environment, then you would
just use dlt.  the difference comes if you have mixed media/drives, say for
example DLT4000 drives AND DLT7000 drives or SDLT drives.
