We have had a similar occurence, which was problem with a cable connecting
the server (SUN Solaris) and the drive.

In our case the /var/adm/messages log showed

Fatal open error on Drive1 (device 1,
/devices/pci@1f,2000/QLGC,qla@1/sg@1,0:raw), errno = 19 (No such device),
DOWN'ing it

We are running Netbackup 3.4.1 DataCenter, patched at 34_2 on a Solaris 2.6
box. Last night our vmd and ltid daemons terminated without human
intervention.  The logs do not show much data to be able to troubleshoot
this problem.  We are connected via scsi to two StorageTek 9710 robotic
libraries.

Has anyone out there ever had a similar occurence?  Any clues or
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
