I've been watching this thread because I want to do the same thing.
This command "bpimage -npc " doesn't change the actual copy number, it just
designates the "npc" copy as the "primary" copy - as the first choice for
file restoral.
What I'd like, and perhaps Fernando, too, is to change copy #2 to be copy
#1. I duplicate images from disk to tape, then delete the disk copy. This
leaves copy #2 on tape, copy #1 deleted. I'd like to then relabel the tape
copy as copy #1 so there's no confusion that this is the only version in
existence.

Hi Fernando,
I did not see a reply to this, so, here ya go...
bpimage -npc 2 -backupid <image name>
This will change the second copy to the primary copy. Using vault, you
should have a script in your vault/production dir called changecopy.sh that
may help you.

Hi
I've duplicated some tapes and want to change the copy
number to 1, from the duplicated tape. I've tried
bpduplicated -npc 1 -backupid, but didn't work.
Does anybody can help?
Thanks in advanced
Fernando Braga
