The error tells it all - you can't change the pool of a volume until it's in
an unassigned state, that is to say, it contains no valid images.

You either have to wait until the tape is "empty", all the images are
expired or force the expiration of the tape (with bpexpdate) and then it can
be reassigned to another tape pool

Hello
I have a tape that was last used in March 2002.
When I go into Media & Device Management, I perform the following step:

Select the Volume pool that has the tape I wish to move into the Scratch
Pool
Select the Tape I need to move
RIGHT CLICK and choose Change
In the Change Volumes Window I choose the "Volume Pool" radio button and
select "New Pool"
I then choose Scratch Pool.
When I click OK I get the message "Change pool of 0019L1 faled: cannot
change volume pool for assigned volume (91).

As I don't have the books, any ideas are welcome. And this is Windows NT 4
SP6a!

Thanks
