I have a mixed SSO environment with Windows 2000 as a master/media
server and Sparc/Solaris8 as a media server using multihosted AIT2 tape
drives. I am receiving error 174 on big jobs (>100 GB) when using the
Solaris8 media server; the smaller jobs are successful. I'm also able
to restore the smaller jobs successfully. The configuration all seem to
be correct except for the dip switch settings. The media manager device
config document indicates that the dip switches for the AIT2 drives must
be changed. Everything runs great on the Windows2000 master/media
server. Thus:

1. What should I set the dip switches for the mixed environment?
2. Is anyone else using a mixed environment?
3. Why do the smaller jobs succeed (99% of the time)? I've configure
the drives for variable length mode.
