arr this is weird now. launching the gui xnb clicking on devices it shows
all tape drives up with no tapes in them.

How ever if I run echo "s s" | tdltest -r /dev/sg/c3t0l0 to get an
inventory, it shows that 1 slot is empty and echo "s d" | etc etc shows 1
drive has a tape in.

hmmm

Dave,

We've had something similar happen in some of our environments that we
don't watch as closely. If we end up putting in more tapes in the library
than the library can hold, the software goes nuts. You might want to check
through robtest whether or not you have too many tapes in the library.

I have a Drive which keeps downing itself. Has any one got any ideas how i
can log what is happening or see why it is failing

running netbackup 3.2 on Solaris 8 with an L1000 attached, which has 4
drives and a robot inside. The drive 2 is failing.

looking at /var/adm/messages i see this:-
